If you've ever lived in or visited Paris, it's impossible not to be familiar with the Champ-de-Mars: an essential part of Parisian life, it's here that people gather all year round for a jog, a picnic or a stroll with a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower, on the occasion of major events such as July 14th... Or the Olympic Games! For the Olympic and Paralympic Games, taking place in Paris during the summer of 2024, this venue is also being transformed to host several sporting events, within a brand-new, and above all ephemeral, stadium.
Facing the Grand Palais Éphémère, also requisitioned as the Champ-de-Mars Arena for the Paris Olympics, the garden at the foot of the Iron Lady will be used for the cecifoot and volleyball events, from July 26 to September 7. As a result, a temporary arena, the Stade Tour Eiffel, will be built from scratch, to be dismantled at the end of the Games, restoring the Champ-de-Mars to its former charm and function as a place for strolling.
