In recent months, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games have enabled culture and sport to shine together, accessible to all. From July 24 to August 11, the Nike brand is transforming the facade of the Centre Pompidou, with a huge canvas showing the public videos and animations featuring athletes and masterpieces from the museum, a screen that can even be seen from the Sacré-Coeur, such is its size and color! Also on the program: sports activities for all, and an exhibition!
Called"Art of Victory", in reference to the Greek goddess Niké of victory and triumph, the exhibition (booking required) celebrates the journey of Nike Air innovation, the brand and the Centre Pompidou being closely linked. Launched in 1987, the Air Max 1 draws its design from the architectural codes of the building imagined by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, with a partly transparent structure to make visible what is usually hidden - the shoe's air bubble - and bold colors.
Nearly 40 years later, the two entities are coming together to celebrate sport and the Olympic Games, with these events and a daily program where Parisians can take up running, basketball, soccer, breaking or skateboarding. The skatepark, created for the occasion, is the perfect place to enjoy art and sport at the same time, in the Centre Pompidou, one of Paris's leadingcontemporary art venues.
