Evaluated on three aquatic ballets, artistic swimming is practiced in duets or in teams of eight swimmers. At the Paris 2024 Games, each of the teams had to perform on a technical program, another free and finally, an acrobatic program.
After very good scores in the technical program (6th with 277.7925 points) and the free program (4th with 340.0561 points), the French artistic swimming team finally took 4th place in the ranking with a very fine acrobatic program that earned them 268.8001 points. Less than 16 points behind the Spaniards, who took bronze behind the United States of America (silver) and China (gold), the French finally finished at the foot of the podium.
For their final program, Les Bleues performed to a song by Grand Corps Malade, Mesdames, paying tribute to the female gender in a ballet and performance that was particularly well received by the audience at the Saint-Denis Aquatic Center. In the absence of the Russian swimmers - deprived of the Games , like all Russian athletes, by the International Olympic Committee, for geopolitical reasons - the cards were reshuffled on this podium, leaving room for new opportunities. China andSpain had already been announced as favourites, along with the USA, but the French surprised the judges and came home with a fine 4th place.
