Top start for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games this Wednesday evening, August 28, with the long-awaited opening ceremony taking place on Place de la Concorde. To kick off this historic moment in the French capital, a grand parade will march down the Champs-Elysées avenue.

After making history at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Friday, July 26, by offering the first-ever off-stadium ceremony accessible to the general public, the Paris 2024 teams intend to make their mark a second time, at the opening ceremony of the Paralympics on August 28.

Orchestrated by Thomas Jolly, artistic director of all Summer Games ceremonies, the Paralympic Opening Ceremony will see 184 delegations and 4,400 athletes from all over the world, who have come especially for this major sporting event. This is the first time that a Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony has been "taken" out of a stadium, where they traditionally take place, giving the general public the chance to witness part of this great event.
