In 2023, more than 780 cinemas in 700 towns across France broadcast live the opening ceremony and film of the Cannes Film Festival. For this 77th edition of the world's most important film festival, held from May 14 to 25, 2024, it's the same old story!
Once again this year, this operation initiated by the Cannes Film Festival, France Télévisions, the Fédération Nationale des Cinémas Français and the CNC - with the friendly support of the AFCA - takes place this Tuesday evening, May 14, in cinemas in Paris and the Ile-de-France region.
All participating cinemas will screen the ceremony, presented by French actress Camille Cottin and featuring an exceptional guest of honor, American actress Meryl Streep. But that's not all, as the opening film, Le Deuxième Acte by Quentin Dupieux, will also be screened, at the end of the opening ceremony.
So, if you're an avid film buff but can't make it to the Cannes Film Festival 2024, here's a way to take part in this three-star event from afar!
