Willy(Sayyid El Alami) and Jojo(Amaury Foucher) are childhood friends who never leave each other's side. To kill boredom, they train at La Pampa, a motocross track. One evening, Willy discovers Jojo's secret. This is the scenario of La Pampa, Antoine Chevrollier's first film, selected for Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival 2024, May 15 to 23.
If you're familiar withAntoine Chevrollier 's name, it's because this French director is responsible for several episodes of the series Le bureau des légendes and Baron noir, as well as another series he created, wrote and directed: Oussekine. Antoine Chevrollier chose Sayyid El Alami (also seen in Bonello's Zombi Child ) for the title role in this story of the police blunder that claimed the life of a 22-year-old student in 1986, and he's back with La Pampa .
Previewed at the Semaine de la Critique, La Pampa was shot in Antoine Chevrollier's native region and village. His first film, it is in competition for the Caméra d'Or 2024.
