To discover the film, you'll have to be patient if you're not lucky enough to get down to Cannes, as the film doesn't yet have a release date in French cinemas. This is the first feature film by the American director, who has so far made a single short, A Message for James (2019).
The Quinzaine des Cinéastes review: "The first film by a passionate cinephile, shot on a shoestring budget, Gazer revives the codes of the paranoid thriller of the great masters of New Hollywood, with a touch of Cronenberg-style horror. Shot on magnificent 16mm film stock, the film demonstrates an astonishing mastery of directing, cutting and editing. We follow a magnetic female character played by Ariella Mastroianni, who also co-wrote the film."
