Born near Buenos Aires, Hernán Rosselli studied music and philosophy before turning to cinema, through studies in editing and screenwriting. An editor on films by Juan José Campanella, Bruno Stagnaro, Hernán Belón and Gastón Solnicki, he moved behind the camera in 2014 with his first feature, Mauro, followed in 2018 by Casa del teatro.
This year, the Argentinian director returns with a new film, Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, selected for the Quinzaine des Cinéastes to be held during the Cannes Film Festival 2024, from May 15 to 25.
Opinion of the Quinzaine des Cinéastes: "A worthy representative of a cinematography in danger, Argentina's Hernán Rosselli will present his magnificent Algo viejo, algo nuevo, algo prestado. Immerse yourself in the world of sports betting among a suburban working class that also wants to find a place in the sun."
