Chatila and Reda save up to buy fake passports to leave Athens. Mahmood Bakri, Aram Sabbah, Mohammad Alsurafa and Angeliki Papoulia are scheduled to join the cast of this new film by Mahdi Fleifel, his first feature-length fiction film after a notable stint in documentary.
Quinzaine des Cinéastes ' review: "The first fiction film by a Palestinian filmmaker who has made a name for himself in the documentary field, To a Land Unknown recounts the desperate attempts of two illegal Palestinian cousins stranded in Athens to find a scheme that will enable them to reach Germany. Nourished by New York American cinema (like Macadam Cowboy etc.) , To a Land Unknown speeds along like a nervous, tragic thriller that's also very well documented."
