Following the success of the first four seasons of LOL: Qui rit, sort!, Prime Video unveils a bold new version of its hit show, entitled LOL IRL. Still presented by actor-director Philippe Lacheau, this version will launch in 2025, exclusively on Prime Video in 240 countries. Produced by Endemol France, the concept of this comedy program has been revisited: this time, celebrities will evolve in the midst of anonymous people, in public places such as supermarkets, museums or airports, filmed by hidden cameras.
In LOL IRL, six celebrities will meet in a public place in France, without the anonymous people present being informed. The aim of the game? To make both the people present and the other participants laugh, scoring a point for each laugh provoked. After six hours of play, the two celebrities with the most points will advance to the final.
LOL IRL is aimed primarily athumor fans and followers of reality TV shows, while broadening its audience by integrating anonymous people into the experience. The concept of making unsuspecting passers-by laugh could appeal to a curious public looking for authentic moments, full of surprises and unexpected interactions. This unprecedented format in public places introduces a new level of spontaneity, where any location can become a potential stage, setting this version apart from its predecessors.
Based on the official announcement made at Mipcom Cannes 2024, LOL IRL takes the basics of the original version while adapting its rules to the setting of everyday life. The production is set for worldwide release on Prime Video in 2025, making it an eagerly awaited event on the platform. Casting has not yet been revealed for this specific edition, but the program's regular names should be part of the next classic season scheduled for the same year.
With LOL IRL, Prime Video and Philippe Lacheau reinvent the comedy game show format in a totally new environment: the everyday lives of French people. With its mix of humor, hidden cameras and unexpected interactions, this new season promises to be a must-see for fans of light comedy and unpredictable moments. Get ready to discover this all-new show in 2025.
