Horizon Zero Dawn: Sony announces a film in collaboration with Columbia Pictures at CES 2025

Sony took advantage of CES 2025 to announce the film adaptation of the acclaimed video game Horizon Zero Dawn on the night of January 6-7, 2025. In collaboration with Columbia Pictures, this project currently in development promises to transpose the world of Aloy, heroine of this post-apocalyptic adventure, to the big screen.

Attention fans of the Horizon video game saga... During a press conference at CES 2025, held from January 7 to 10, 2025 in Las Vegas, Sony announced the production of a feature film adapted from the acclaimed video game Horizon Zero Dawn. The film, the result of a collaboration between PlayStation Studios and Columbia Pictures, will transpose the iconic post-apocalyptic universe of the game developed by Guerrilla Games to the big screen.

The film, currently in preliminary development, follows in the footsteps of previous Columbia Pictures adaptations, notably Uncharted 2022, which saw Tom Holland play the role of Nathan Drake. According to Asad Qizilbash, director of PlayStation Productions, " Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions are in the early stages of developing a film adaptation of the award-winning game Horizon Zero Dawn. The studios' ambition, then, is to bring to life the story ofAloy, a machine hunter in a world populated by mechanical creatures.

Although no release date has been announced, this adaptation is already attracting interest from fans of the game, who are hoping to reconnect withAloy 'sOrigin Story and the franchise's vibrant universe. At the same conference, Sony also unveiled plans for a film adaptation of Helldivers 2 and an animated series based on Ghost of Tsushima. See you in cinemas!
