Missing Worlds: get up close to dinosaurs in virtual reality at Bercy Village - our test

An unforgettable experience has been taking place at the Jardin des Plantes, in the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, since October 14, 2023. After eight months, it moves to Bercy Village on July 6, 2024, to continue plunging into the past, up to 3.5 billion years before our era, and meet the animals and living beings that then populated our beautiful planet.

Equipped with virtual reality helmets, visitors aged 8 and over will experience an extraordinary immersive experience, at the heart of a scientific fiction as close as possible to our history, imagined by Excurio and the Museum's Scientific Committee.

Breathtaking images and an interactive scenario will allow the public to feel involved in the experience, surrounded by living things, as close as possible to the species. Accompanied by Charlie, a young researcher from the future, and her robot Darwin, you can wander at your leisure for almost an hour, discovering thehistory of living things.

Take a look at the Archean period, but also witness the rise of animal life in the Cambrian period, including Cretaceous dinosaurs, of course, and the arrival of humans!

An experience that the editors were able to try out, during a sensitive journey between history and science. Armed with our helmet, we are guided through different eras, in search of energy to enable the robot accompanying us to return to the future, after a technical incident in 2200.

A pretext for discovering the birth of life on Earth, in the heart of aquatic environments. Fish, vertebrates and other species now extinct brush past us, almost giving us the impression of being able to touch them.

Above all, the feeling of having access to a privileged and very realistic moment, thanks to high-quality images that allow us to observe the animals up close, by bending down to get closer to them, or passing under a diplodocus!

All you have to do is follow the instructions given by the accompanying researcher, and you'll be carried away by the joy of discovering mythical dinosaurs at life size, in an adventure that's not without its dangers, with all these carnivorous species!

We also appreciate the message around species conservation, with a detour into 2023, which invites us to preserve a biodiversity that could soon disappear, if Humanity doesn't wake up in time, and join the thousands of extinct worlds we come across on this exceptional journey, accompanied by your loved ones thanks to avatar modeling.

It's an adventure the whole family will enjoy, allowing history to be lived rather than told, for a more playful learning experience for all ages, at the Eclipso center, which already offers L'Horizon de Khéops, in the heart of Bercy Village.
