Pokemon TCG Pocket is THE mobile game of the moment, taking you into the fabulous world of Pokemon, and in particular into the collectible card game that has delighted so many players (and continues to do so). A mobile version that lets you open packs of cards, just as if you were buying them in a store, and that also plunges you into a simplified version of battles. You've just downloaded the app and want to start your adventure? Here are our tips for getting your card collection off to a good start!
It's advisable not to focus solely on rare cards. And for good reason: it's experience that helps you progress, not rare cards (EX or other Pokémon Legendary cards). Sure, they help, but nothing beats a good old-fashioned deck. Concentrate instead on common or uncommon cards to get off to a good start. What's more, save your Poké ingots for important events and avoid using them to open boosters, a precious resource for free-to-play players.
Opening a booster of cards (the packs, that is...) is all very well, but be careful not to open too many at once via Booster Hourglasses, otherwise you won't be able to open any more for a while. To collect hourglasses, you need to complete certain missions (open a booster, complete a certain number of missions, etc.), and this can take some time. So you only open these daily boosters, and possibly another if you have the required number of hourglasses (twelve in all), and save the rest for later, after you've accumulated more.
Another way to recover cards: the miracle deck! The idea: get one of the cards from a booster that's been opened by another person (note that the person who opened the booster doesn't lose any cards). To do this, you'll need "miracle vitality", which recharges over time... Except that this miracle vitality recharges slowly... But really, really slowly. To be used sparingly, too, but you can get some nice cards for your deck.
To get off to a good start in the arena, we advise you to concentrate on a single deck to progress through the single-player battles. As you collect more boosters, you'll have enough cards to compose your own decks, by type (water, fire, plant, psy, etc.). For battles, don't hesitate to use borrowed decks for certain missions, while playing strategic cards like Poké Ball or Professor Research to fluidify your hand. Finally, don't forget that sometimes, not attacking can be a strategy to destabilize your opponent.
With these tips in mind, Pokémon TCG Pocket can quickly become an accessible and enjoyable experience, even for beginners. So, shall we get started?
