On the Place du Marché, Crécy-la-Chapelle's main square, the bookshop café has been opening its doors to book lovers and the curious for over 11 years. Acting as both a general bookshop and a tea room, it's a pleasant place to come all year round, to discover one of the books on offer with the advice of the bookshop staff, or simply to sip a hot drink overlooking the Grand Morin.
Headed by Céline Ferré, she runs the store and, along with the second bookseller, offers an attractive children's section, a feminist section, board games... In addition to the more "traditional" departments. The shop also regularly welcomes authors to sign their works.
As you move deeper into the store, you come to thetea room area, where you can relax for a few minutes (or hours), enjoying a hot or cold drink, or a traditional pastry for a snack. A la carte, the booksellers don their barista aprons to pour a cup of coffee on their pretty covered terraces, and serve long drinks, lattes, espressos, hot chocolates... Or offer one of the delicacies made by the local bakery.
The Crécy-la-Chapelle bookshop café is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 1pm and 2.30pm to 7pm, and Sundays, 10am to 1pm. A great place to visit if you're planning to spend a day or a weekend in Crécy-la-Chapelle!
