Since 2021, France's most famous clay-court tournament has been offering night sessions, with matches in the evening, for a very different, more festive atmosphere. But for 2023, Roland-Garros has decided tobring forward the start time of thenight sessionsby a few minutes, to make the return journey by public transport easier for the Parisian public. In fact, from this Monday, May 29 until June 7, 2023, at the end of the quarter-finals, the sessions will start at 8.30pm!
These 10 evening sessions will be broadcast exclusively on Amazon's Prime Video service, on the Philippe-Chatrier court only. Previously, the match was scheduled for 9pm, but last year, Nadal himself commented after his 1am victory that it could be a very long night. Tournament director Amélie Mauresmo responded to "the demands of the players and the public in terms of transport if the match lasts" by changing the time.
