If France lose this match too, their hopes of winning the tournament from the outset are over, with the Grand Slam already slipping away. After a difficult World Cup to digest, the XV de France is not at full strength, and coach Fabien Galthié has to deal with a number of absences and injuries. With two changes to the starting line-up, Cameron Woki replaces the suspended Paul Willemse, and Louis Bielle-Biarrey replaces Yoram Moefana.
