We now know the route and dates of Paris-Nice 2025, the famous cycling race. This year's Paris-Nice will set off on Sunday, March 9 from Le Perray-en-Yvelines, a small commune in the Yvelines department, with a finish scheduled for March 16 on Nice's famous Promenade des Anglais. This 83ᵉ edition of the "Course au Soleil" promises a beautiful breakaway to follow between Ile-de-France landscapes and Provencal reliefs.

The route for Paris-Nice 2025 was unveiled this Tuesday morning in Versailles. As every year, the prestigious cycling race opens the European season and attracts the biggest names in the peloton. We look forward to seeing you from March 9 to 16 to follow this epic race, which this year will once again start from the Yvelines.

The start of the first stage will be given in Le Perray-en-Yvelines, a town of 6,500 inhabitants near Rambouillet, which offers a great spotlight to the town and its local club, Les Randonneurs du Perray. The start also confirms the central role of the Yvelines as a land of cycling, which has hosted the first stage of the race since 2010.

Last year's event featured a memorable battle between American Matteo Jorgenson (Visma - Lease a Bike) and Belgian Remco Evenepoel (Soudal - Quick Step), who, despite being the favorite, lost out due to unfortunate tactical choices. Unfortunately, Remco Evenepoel will not be able to take part this year due to an injury sustained in training. A notable absence which could reshuffle the cards for the other riders, particularly during the final mountainous weekend around Nice.

As Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme explains to Le Parisien, " Paris-Nice is a condensed version of cycling, all the more delicious after a long period of withdrawal for cycling fans ". This often decisive event offers a glimpse of the forces at work before the major spring races such as the Classics and the Tour de France.

With previous starts in Auffargis in 2022 and Les Bréviaires in 2019, the choice of Le Perray-en-Yvelines is part of a long-standing tradition for the Yvelines, which enjoys a strong partnership with race organizer Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.). The department, renowned for its 850 km of cycle paths and varied landscapes, offers an ideal setting for such an eagerly-awaited opening race.

For cycling fans, Paris-Nice is a not-to-be-missed event, marking the return of competition after the winter. From the start in the Île-de-France region to the steep roads of the Côte d'Azur, riders will compete on a demanding and spectacular course. The first stage at Le Perray-en-Yvelines promises to attract curious onlookers and enthusiasts to witness the start of this legendary event.
