It's true that golf isn't always looked on favorably by the younger public, seen as financially inaccessible or not as exciting as a soccer match. For those who want to change this viewpoint or simply try a new sport while having fun, head for Morangis, in the Essonne region, to discover footgolf and disc-golf! But what are these two amazing disciplines?
Created in the Netherlands in 2009, footgolf is now booming all over the world, and Morangis is the first course in the region. A precision sports activity played outdoors, footgolf is accessible to all and takes place on a golf course, with identical outfits, vocabulary and rules, but with a soccer instead of a ball, and your foot instead of a club! The aim is to put the ball in the hole with as few strokes as possible.
Disc golf is a little different, since it's not played with a ball, but with discs, or frisbees, thrown towards metal baskets. Here too, the rules are the same as for 18-hole golf! Covering an area of almost 8 hectares, the former Golf de la Galande is now home to both recreational and competitive golfers, just 20 minutes from Paris.
In the near future, the site will also offer normal golf courses, but in the meantime, it's time for some unusual sport, with friends or family!
