Ready to climb the Bastille? No, it's not the prison at the heart of the French Revolution, but an experience offered by Climbing District, in their nearby gym in the 12th arrondissement. Les Prises de la Bastille is the brainchild of the climbing franchise and Arc'teryx, a sportswear brand, which will enable climbing enthusiasts to indulge in a uniquely designed space in the capital.
From June 12, 2024, and for a period of 6 months, the curious will be able to try out this new course, which takes its inspiration from origami and the boulders of Fontainebleau, but also from the urban environment. The program includes holds with surprising shapes, combined with materials that are rare in climbing gyms, such as wood, granite and slate, for a more natural and authentic climbing experience, right in the heart of the city.
An ephemeral and sporting work of art, accessible to everyone, whether you're a regular climber or a beginner! On site, free workshops and courses are offered to help you improve your skills with professionals, as well as film screenings, artist exhibitions and talks, so you can all get together around climbing! Good to know, Climbing District offers a bus service every weekend from June 16 to July 21 between central Paris and Fontainebleau!
