The Suzanne Berlioux pool was built in 1987, a few years after the inauguration of the Forum des Halles. It bears the name of Suzanne Berlioux, an emblematic figure in French swimming and former trainer of Olympic champions. Built on the site of the former Halles de Paris and enclosed underground, the pool is part of a bold architectural project symbolizing the urban renewal of the 1980s.
Its large 50-metre Olympic-size pool with 8 lanes is perfect for sporting activities, adapted to your level. Bathed in natural light thanks to large bay windows on one side of the complex, the pool features a bold design that offsets the underground nature of the site while creating a welcoming, airy atmosphere.
The last few lanes are often merged into a large free-swimming area, especially for activities such as aquagym or swimming lessons. Modern facilities include spacious changing rooms, accessible showers and regularly monitored water quality to ensure an optimal experience. Classes at theAcadémie du Savoir-Nager, the pool's swimming school, take place in the Olympic-size pool for younger children.
In addition to the swimming pool, the Suzanne-Berlioux sports complex also includes a gymnasium. Since January 2016, Centr'Halles Park, a space dedicated to parkour, has been installed in the area adjoining the pool, previously occupied by tropical greenhouses. Located in a highly accessible district, the Suzanne Berlioux swimming pool benefits from immediate proximity to several metro and RER lines. This central location makes it a popular spot for Parisians in a hurry and visitors passing through, especially as it is open late into the evening.
