"2019 - 1964: Futurespective": that's the theme of this series of Paris concerts to be offered by John Cale at the Cité de la Musique on Monday 23, Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 September 2019.
Conceived as a journey through time, this wide-ranging concert embraces John Cale's entire career, from his most recent recordings to his early days with the legendary Velvet Underground.
Welsh singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer John Cale first made a name for himself with the Velvet Underground. But conflicts with Lou Reed forced him to leave the group in 1968. He then embarked on a solo career, which began with the album"Vintage Violence" and now includes some twenty studio albums.
At the same time, he was an active producer, working with the likes of Nico, the Stooges and Patti Smith, and composed numerous film scores, notably for Philippe Garrel.
From the present to the 1960s, this Parisian event at the Cité de la Musique retraces a long and impressive career spanning more than half a century, and reflects all John Cale's creativity.
