Blur, Gorillaz, The Good, The Bad and The Queen or Rocket Juice & the Moon... The British artist Damon Albarn is a hyperactive who constantly creates new projects. While he was on a European tour in spring 2019 alongside The Good, The Bad and The Queen, the singer, musician and composer returns with a new solo opus inspired by the landscapes of Iceland; a country he fell madly in love with several years ago.
Called"The nearer The Fountain, the purer the Stream Flows", this new album will be discovered live in France next spring during two exceptional concerts scheduled at the Philharmonie de Paris on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 March 2022. For the occasion, this new work will be performed in the capital with an instrumental ensemble.
Composed of 11 tracks that explore the themes of fragility, loss, emergence and rebirth, the record"The nearer The Fountain, the purer the Stream Flows" pushes the boundaries once again, with sublime orchestral arrangements.
We recall that Damon Albarn fell in love with Iceland, a small country of fire and ice, during the period of Blur. It is here that he feels at home. He owns a house and shares in the famous bar"Kaffibarinn". The incredible landscapes and the surrounding nature of Iceland offer him respite and inspiration. An inspiration which gives birth to this new project,"The nearer The Fountain, more pure the Stream Flows", to be discovered in stores on November 12, 2021, and in live in Paris on March 4 and 5, 2022.
Until then, we leave you with his single"Royal Morning Blue":
