Rammstein fans had a smile on their faces this Friday, June 28, 2019 for the big return of their favorite band in a Parisian venue.
For this comeback - seven years after Paris Bercy and three years after its performance at Download Festival Paris - Rammstein had chosen to invest for the first time the stage of Paris La Défense Arena for two exclusive and packed shows with fans from all over Europe.
These fans had the pleasant surprise of seeing the duo Játékok in the first part. Composed of the two pianists Adélaïde Panaget and Naïri Badal, Játékok had already had the honor of opening for Rammstein in 2017 at the Arènes de Nîmes. In 2019, they were chosen by the Germans to ensure the first parts of their entire new European tour.
The opportunity for the public to discover several pieces from the album"Klavier". And the thrill is felt when listening to these Rammstein covers interpreted with two pianos, and sometimes even with four hands on the same piano! The emotion is at its peak when the notes of " Frühling in Paris " resound in chorus by the public!
It's at 9pm that the Germans of Rammstein come on stage for a set of a little over two hours.
As always, the German band gives us an eyeful with repeated pyrotechnic effects for our greatest happiness and an ultra neat and perfectly synchronized scenography.
On stage, the charisma of the leader Till Lindemann does not betray; he transports the public with ardor and rage to offer at the end a great mass of the indus metal.
The flames take over the stage on the tracks " Zeig Dich ", " Sonne " but also " Rammstein " without forgetting the excellent " Du Hast " where Till Lindemann shoots a rocket towards the back of the room.
Add to that the very elaborate lights, confetti cannons, but also the inevitable flame thrower on " Mein Teil ", a gigantic baby carriage in flames on " Puppe ", or a foam cannon on " Pussy " and you get the Rammstein 's live signature that everyone loves.
If the band had chosen to take some strong elements from their previous tours, Rammstein proposed however some novelties like this dancing interlude on the remix of " Deutschland " signed Richard Z. Kruspe, transforming the stage of Paris La Défense Arena into a dancefloor!
We also loved it when the members of Rammstein joined a small stage in the form of a ring in the middle of the pit. Accompanied only by the duo Játékok, the Germans performed their hit song " Engel ", which was taken up by the audience who could follow the lyrics on a screen.
To top it all off, 5 members of Rammstein joined the main stage on an inflatable boat carried by the crowd before playing their very dynamic " Ausländer ".
The only drawback of this set? The lack of screens... And given the size of the room, it would not have been too much.
But for the rest, Rammstein undoubtedly delivered a very nice performance, both flamboyant and euphoric.
We remind you that Rammstein will ensure a second Parisian show this June 29, 2019. The band will then return to France in 2020 with a single concert scheduled for July 9, 2020 at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon.
