After seven editions already, the Paris New-York Heritage Festival is organizing two new days of festivities this autumn. To make the most of them, join us on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15, 2024 at the Parc André-Citroën.
The event is usually held in 6 cities around the world (Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Montreal and Johannesburg), and its mission is to recall the origins of music from African, Afro and Latin American cultures, both indigenous and European, which have shaped the music of today. The Paris New-York Heritage Festival returns to the capital this autumn with a concept that has been thought out and thought through in an ecological and conscious manner.
For two days, the festival teams create a 500m² open-air haystack arena. No less than 120 bales of straw (i.e. 50 tons of straw) will take over the famous park in the 15th arrondissement of Paris to form a straw-bale arena in the middle of which the artists will perform. This material has the advantage of absorbing noise.
What's on the program? Music, with concerts and DJ sets, but also gastronomy to satisfy everyone's taste buds, and other activities, such as eco-responsible workshops and the famous hot-air balloon flight, accessible even at night!
Having already welcomed Roy Ayers, Tony Allen, Erik Truffaz, Wax Tailor and Keren Ann, this year's Paris New-York Heritage festival will welcome Creole musician David Walters, who is sure to take the audience on a delightful musical journey.
We'll also be joined by DJ Nicky B, and the 9-piece Colombian collective Cumbia Ya!
In the run-up to this annual event, Paris New-York Heritage Festival joins in the Olympic spirit! To coincide with the Paris Olympic Games, the event is offering a series of free concerts every weekend from July 27 to September 8 at the Paris Olympic Fan Zone in the 15th arrondissement. On the menu? An eclectic line-up of world, soul, funk, hip-hop and jazz acts, including The Brooks, Dinaa, Smadj & Napoleon Maddox, DjeuhDjoah & Lieutenant Nicholson, KLT & Jessy Elsa Palma...
