Three years after their last show in Paris (it was in June 2019 at the Grand Rex), Midnight Oil are back in town. The Australian rock band will perform on Tuesday July 12, 2022, on the iconic stage of the Olympia. This will be their only French date this summer.
Led by Peter Garrett, Midnight Oil will make the most of it to present live the tracks from their latest opus. Called “Resist”, this album is already available since February 18, 2022. For your information, this new album has been recorded during the same sessions as the 2020 project “The Makarata Project” (EP), the true first new studio album of the band released in 19 years. With “Resist”, produced by Warne Livesey, Midnight Oil once again lets off steam faced with the climate challenges they have been struggling with since their debuts over 40 years ago.
Proof of it with the “Rising Seas” and “We Resist” singles
But Midnight Oil show in Paris will also be the occasion for the band to return live on some of their many hits. For the record, Midnight Oil debuted in 1978 and ended their career in 2002 releasing many hits including “Blue Sky Mine”, “Power and the Passion”, “Dead Heart”, “King of the Mountain”, without forgetting the classic “Beds Are Burning”, a world-famous song. The band reunited for a world tour in 2017 and seems to be back live. This is good news for the many nostalgic fans who will enjoy this Parisian show to dive into the very great discography of Midnight Oil again for the night, on July 12, at the Olympia, and you want to be there. Please note this will be their very last tour. So, you better be there! Tickets go on sale on Monday February 28 at 10 a.m. (Paris time).
