"Chihiro's Journey","Princess Mononoke","Kiki the Little Witch","The Moving Castle","My Neighbor Totoro","Castle in the Sky"... all these masterpieces of Japanese animation have several points in common. They were all produced by the legendary Studio Ghibli, and they were all directed by the indisputable Hayao Miyazaki. But that's not all: behind the music of all these successful animated films is one of the greatest composers of his generation, Joe Hisaishi.
Composer, conductor, pianist and lyricist, Joe Hisaishi has composed the music for most of Studio Ghibli's films, including the forthcoming " The Boy and the Heron ".
In 2024, the Grand Rex in Paris has decided to pay tribute to this 72-year-old master of Japanese music. To experience this unique moment, head to the famous venue on Paris's Grands Boulevards on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
On the program? An exclusive concert featuring a philharmonic orchestra, inviting spectators to experience live some of the greatest symphonic pieces from Studio Ghibli films, as well as those from famous cinema films composed by the talented Joe Hisaishi. To top it all off, several musical works from the worlds of video games and Japanese dramas will also be performed on June 22 at the Grand Rex during this tribute concert, which is a must-see!
