Bewitching, moving and transcendent. On Wednesday October 11, 2023, Polish pianist, singer and composer Hania Rani gave a unique concert at the Salle Pleyel in Paris, to present her new opus, "Ghosts". Here's a look back at this sublime concert, a true moment suspended in time.

There's no stopping him. After an intimate set at La Maroquinerie in October 2021, an incredible performance for Cercle in the Cour des Invalides in July 2022, and a memorable concert at La Cigale in April 2023, Hania Rani continues her momentum by tackling a new venue in the capital. For her return to the City of Light, just five months after her last Parisian performance, the Polish pianist, singer and composer this time chose to take over the beautiful Salle Pleyel, in the 8th arrondissement. A larger Parisian venue for an artist who never ceases to amaze and charm us with her neoclassical compositions, as bewitching as they are transcendent.

In 2019,Hania Rani launched her solo career with the release of the excellent opus"Esja". A year later, the musician bewitched us once again with the sublime"Home", featuring tracks such as " Leaving ", " Come back Home " and " Buka ". Then, in 2021, the musician unveils the delicate"Music for Film and Theatre", before producing the opus"On Giacometti". Since October 6, Hania Rani has been at the helm of her third studio opus, christened"Ghosts". It's a successful album with more electronic notes, and features a number of prestigious guests such as Canada's Patrick Watson, Iceland's Ólafur Arnalds and Britain's Duncan Bellamy (Portico Quartet).

An album thatHania Rani is proud to present this autumn in the four corners of Europe, including at the Salle Pleyel in Paris on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

After a classical and poetic opening set by Icelandic singer Alfheidur Erla Gudmundsdóttir and Icelandic pianist and composer Viktor Orri Arnason,Hania Rani takes to the stage at 9pm sharp, still surrounded by her grand piano, upright piano and multiple machines (keyboards and synthesizers). It's a musical triangle she handles to perfection, switching from one to the other with disconcerting ease and a concentration you wouldn't dare disturb. Ziemowit Klimek, already present at La Cigale last spring, also takes to the Salle Pleyel stage to deliver an even more powerful performance, armed with his imposing but delicate double bass and machines.

Right from the start of their set, the pair transport us into the minimalist genre with " Outro Terra ", before moving on to the more electro " 24.03 ". Then the mood changes with the sublime " Dancing With Ghosts ", driven byHania Rani's mysterious, bewitching voice, followed by the bewitching " Moans ".

As the artist takes us into a nostalgic, dreamlike world, the staging is meticulous and intimate, with delicate lighting and large white veils suspended at the back of the stage, onto which abstract shapes are projected.

Dressed all in black and as focused as ever, Hania Rani continues her set with the rousing " Hello ", before taking the stage and asking the audience to create as much atmosphere as they did at La Cigale last spring. The result? The audience applauded and howled in response to their idol's request.

After this little recreational break, the touching " Don't Break My Heart ", the moving " Dreamy " and the sensational " Komeda " follow, each time with this extreme sensitivity and desire to rework the songs to offer the audience several incredible live versions, all sublimated by the talent and genius of his sound engineer, Agata Dankowska.

Sometimes seated behind her grand piano, straight as a line, sometimes standing - with her back to the audience and her back bent - behind her keyboards and synthesizers, then seated again behind her upright piano and microphone... Hania Rani seems to be telling us a story. A beautiful story. The story of an artist to whom everything seems to succeed, and who is endowed with an overflowing creativity. It's the story of a young woman who also likes to take us on a fabulous musical journey, imbued with slow but soothing melancholy, comforting nostalgia, upbeat notes and dreamlike images.

Hania Rani brings her 2-hour show to a close with the rousing " Hawaii Oslo ", followed by the remarkable " Leaving ", carried by her magical voice, before a final solo encore behind her grand piano.

Once again, Hania Rani used the full extent of her talent to deliver a set of extreme sensitivity and undeniable creativity, making us want to see her live in Paris as soon as possible!
