This Sunday, April 2, 2023, the Polish pianist Hania Rani literally bewitched the audience of the Cigale for her new Parisian concert. Between classical and electro sounds, the pianist delivered a sumptuous performance, as exhilarating as dreamlike. We tell you about it.

For several years now, fans of neo-classical music have been in heaven. If some artists are still too rare in Paris, like the unavoidable Max Richter, others multiply their concerts like the Icelandic Ólafur Arnalds and Eydís Evensen, the German Nils Frahm, the Italian Ludovico Einaudi, or the talented and fascinating Hania Rani.

After the Maroquinerie and her memorable concert in the sumptuous Cour d'Honneur des Invalides in the summer of 2022, the Polish pianist returned to Paris on Sunday, April 2, 2023. This time, the artist took over the stage of the Cigale for the first time. Without surprise, this concert was sold out for a few weeks already. It must be said thatHania Rani already has a solid fan base.

It's already been 8 years since the artist has burst into our lives. It was alongside Polish cellist Dobrawa Czocher thatHania Rani made her debut, releasing the album"Biała Flaga" in 2015. Four years later, the pianist went solo and released"Esja" where we find the beautiful tracks " Glass ", " Luka " or even " For Three ".

Since then, Hania Rani has been riding the wave of success with her touching, inventive and moving songs. And the 32-year-old artist is prolific. In 2020, the musician released the incredible"Home", marked by the singles " Leaving ", " Buka " and " Come Back Home ". A year later, Hania Rani comes back with "Music for Film and Theatere" then"Live from Studio S2 Warsaw" in 2022 and finally"On Giacometti" in 2023.

This Sunday, April 2, 2023, on the occasion of her new Parisian concert, Hania Rani interpreted several of her numerous and sublime compositions. And as every time, Hania Rani likes to surprise and to propose a new scenography. After the quartet with Dobrawa Czocher at the Maroquinerie, the jazz quintet at the Invalides without forgetting her solo performances in several other European cities, Hania Rani was this time surrounded by Ziemowit Klimek (on double bass and machines), already present at her side during her concert in the Cour des Invalides.

And the symbiosis between the two musicians, sublimated by the genius and talent of the sound engineer Agata Dankowska, is incredibly magical. For about 1h45, the duo delivered a performance as breathtaking as it was sunny. Musician extraordinaire, the artist has fun to revisit some of his songs by incorporating in a delicate way some electro sounds, both soft and haunting.

On stage, Hania Rani goes from the upright piano to the grand piano and then to the machines with a disconcerting ease, to make more than one jealous. If some compositions make us shiver with pleasure, like " Ghosts " or " Leaving ", others inevitably make us move our heads and feet, like " Hawaii Oslo " and " Buka ".

As she says herself, Hania Rani does not like to talk between songs. So she strings them together, but with subtlety and intelligence to create three distinct parts, each as bewitching as the other. Whether she is sitting at the piano or standing with her back to the audience, in front of her machines, Hania Rani masters her performance to perfection and takes us with her on an intoxicating journey that we would like to prolong again and again.

And we are not the only ones to ask for more. Hania Rani and Ziemowit Klimek have the right to several standing ovations from the public. As a thank you, the two artists offer them two encores as divine and exquisite as the previous songs. Visibly touched by the reception that the Parisian public reserved to her, Hania Rani could not help announcing them her return in live this autumn. We can't wait to be there!

And for the most impatient, we remind you thatHania Rani will perform this summer in the north of France for the festival Les Nuits Secrètes.
