Are you a metal music fan ? You're in for a treat! This week, France 4, channel 14 on TNT, is putting the spotlight on extreme music with a not-to-be-missed special evening on Thursday, September 5, 2024. The program? A never-before-seen prime-time broadcast of the Trivium concert at the Olympia on February 1, 2023, followed by a rebroadcast of the excellent Jinjer concert, also at the Olympia on January 31, 2023.
So, is it really necessary to introduce these two flagship bands from the metal scene? For newcomers, a brief introduction is in order.
Formed in 1999 in Florida, Trivium quickly became a reference on the metal scene thanks to the release of 10 albums, the latest of which"In The Court Of The Dragon" was released in autumn 2021. Proof of its success, Trivium has toured with some of the biggest names: Machine Head, In Flames, Killswith Engage, Slipknot, Coheed & Cambria... The energy of frontman Matt Heafy has a lot to do with it. And every Trivium performance provokes some wild pogos and circle pits. The proof is in this Parisian set captured at the Olympia on February 1, 2023, and not to be missed on France 4 this Thursday, September 5, 2024.
Jinjer, on the other hand, is a much younger band. Formed in 2009 in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, this groove metal band today comprisesEugene Abdukhanov, Vladislav Ulasevish, Roman Ibramkhalilov and singer Tatiana Shmayluk, whose voice continues to impress. With no less than 6 albums to its credit, including the latest"Wallflowers" (2021), Jinjer is currently playing a series of concerts in Europe and North America. If you missed him, then relive his powerful concert at the Olympia in Paris on January 31, 2023, and tune in to France 4 this Thursday.
Trivium and Jinjer will be back in Paris in the coming months. While the former is expected at the Zénith de Paris in 2025 alongside Bullet for my Valentine, the latter also plans to invade the Zénith de La Villette. That will be in October with Sepultura!
Until then, tune in to France 4, Culturebox and france.tv this Thursday, September 5, 2024, for the Trivium concert from 9pm to 10:07pm, followed by the Jinjer show from 11:15pm to 12:03am. In between, catch German melodic death metal band Heaven Shall Burn at the Olympia.
