Black Swan: the new modern ballet to Tchaikovsky's music

Black Swan, a new world premiere, is a first in the world of ballet. Set to the music of the famous Tchaikovsky, the dancers of the Szeged Contemporary Dance Company reinvent the story beyond the famous ballet of Swan Lake ballet. The ballet, choreographed by Tamás Juronics, is about to embark on a world tour.

Black Swan promises to show you the story behind Swan Lake that you'd never have imagined! The protagonist, schizophrenic Odette, struggles in one of these institutions with other patients. In her imagination, she's a swan queen. She attends balls, goes to palaces, moves back and forth between her past, her present and her future, which will never come. The solitude of the hospital room or the strait-jacket cannot limit the wing of fantasy...

The ballet is performed by the world-renowned Szeged Contemporary Dance Company, founded in 1993 in Hungary. Under the direction of Tamás Juronics, this contemporary dance company is renowned for its original creations that combine dance, theater and visual arts. Juronics' choreographies often explore philosophical and social themes, with an aesthetic marked by the search for movement and emotion.
