Whether you're into theater, dance, concert, installation or performance, the Festival Paris l'été is sure to please. What was long known as the Festival Paris Quartier d'été was renamed 8 years ago when Laurence de Magalhaes and Stéphane Ricordel took over as directors. The name may have changed, but the high standards of the program have not. Join us from July 10 to 30, 2023, in the four corners of the capital to experience these new cultural horizons, and also in the suburbs, as at Pantin. And some events are even free, like Charon's Wheel, an unusual installation to be discovered at La Villette.
In addition to theater, music and dance, there's circus, a traveling opera and even an acrobatic stroll. This year, the Festival Paris l'été is having a field day with its multi-disciplinary opening. Yes, you can see it all at this festival, across Paris and beyond, with over 10 partner venues as diverse as the Louvre Museum, the Théâtre Paris Villette, the Cabaret Sauvage, the Beaux-Arts de Paris, the Centquatre, the Lycée Jacques-Decour and the Monnaie de Paris.
So, what can we expect to see at this year's Paris l'été Festival?
No fewer than 19 different cultural events across all disciplines. Opening with dance at the Musée du Louvre, circus at the Monnaie de Paris, Joël Pommerat's latest masterpiece,"Contes et légendes", at the Centquatre,"Fluids", an unusual dance performance by the Finnish artistic collective WAUHAUS, or director and choreographer Elle Sofe Sara's show mixing dance and Yoiks, transporting us to Lapland, not forgetting a concert by artist Sandra Nkaké.
