The Atelier des Lumières presents the visual experience Monet, Renoir, Chagall, Journeys in the Mediterranean. Conceived as an immersive experience, this exhibition takes us to the heart of the masterpieces of 20 artists including Renoir, Monet, Pissarro, Matisse, Signac, Derain, Vlaminck, Dufy, Chagall, for a journey through the history of art of the 19th and 20th centuries, from impressionism to modernity, through pointillism and fauvism. The exhibition remains closed until further notice.

Monet, Renoir, Chagall, voyages en Méditerranée, theimmersive experience of theAtelier des Lumières for the year 2020, is a thematic exhibition centered on the"voyage en Méditerranée". This 40-minute sound and light show immerses us in 500 works by 20 artists from the 19th and 20th centuries for a beautiful panorama of French painting. The exhibition remains closed until further notice.

Thanks to the new AMIEX® process, the Atelier des Lumières succeeds in dematerializing the works and bringing them to life on 140 video projectors with spatialized sound. We have already been fascinated by the exhibitions devoted to Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, and Yann Arthus-Bertrand, and it is therefore the Mediterranean of Monet, Renoir and Chagall that awaits us from February 28 to January 17, 2021. Closed since mid-March due to the coronavirus epidemic, the exhibition will welcome visitors again from May 26, 2020.

Why this theme? The ocean and the Mediterranean seduced artists in the 19th century, with the advent of thermalism. They left their studios and gathered along the coast, from Collioure to Saint-Tropez and proposed a new conception of light and color.

In 40 minutes, therefore, we go through the greatest pictorial movements of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries: impressionism with Monet and Renoir, pointillism with Signac and Cross, fauvism with Derain, Vlaminck ... without forgetting Matisse. More than 500 paintings and details are gathered for the occasion, in giant format since they are projected in movement on the 10 meters high walls of the building.

We can already see ourselves bathing in theAntibes painted by Claude Monet (1888), theEstague by Auguste Renoir (1882), the Bay of Angels in Nice by Raoul Dufy and the Saint Tropez by Paul Signac (1899) and we can already imagine the soundtrack that pierces us with its waves and children's laughter.

During this experience, several focuses are realized, one on Bonnard and Dufy, another on Chagall, but also on the colorful universe of Matisse. This visual and musical creation offers, as always, a living picture with vivid and powerful colors, a beautiful experience that is very good to introduce children to art.

After this experience, theAtelier des Lumières offers a plunge intoYves Klein'sInfinite Blue, this so particular color that seems to never degrade with time.

And from January 29, 2021, you can discover the new exhibition Dali, the endless enigma.

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
