Freestyle, the unmissable street culture festival, is back at La Villette! Dance, street-art, fashion, music, sport... The free street culture festival returns for an even more incredible edition, on June 22 and 23, 2024. Not to be missed!
A whole weekend dedicated to street culture in all its forms, for a total immersion in urban art. The ninth edition of this not-to-be-missed event will take place at La Villette on June 22 and 23, 2024. The free Freestyle festival is back in an extra-special edition, with a special Cultural Olympiad, for all our enjoyment!
This year, the Freestyle festival takes place outdoors, day and night, for even more discoveries and surprises. We'll be meeting on the Prairie du Cercle Nord by day, and in the Périphérique area between Kilomètre25 and Jardin21 by night. An open-air event, to enjoy the freedom offered by these wide-open spaces, and to have fun in the beautiful June sunshine. Performances, workshops, demonstrations and parties await us during this memorable weekend.
On the program? Dancing, roller dancing, street-art, basketball, fashion shows, DJ sets, artistic battles and numerous activities open to all. In short, it's a popular festival that's not to be missed! Sweet and savoury food trucks are on hand every day, so we can make the most of the festival.

Saturday, June 22nd
- 3:15pm, 4:15pm, 5:15pm (10 min.) - Moon, Compagnie Barks
Part space voyage, part gravity-free poem, part lunar circus, Moon is a small anti-gravitational form. Mechanical and organic, like our constantly evolving universe, Moon invites us to explore and contemplate. Between whimsical invention and impossible acrobatics, it's a search for variations in gravity, a form of farewell to our weight, a way of altering space and time.
- 3 pm to 8:30 pm on the triptychs - Street Art live
Scattered across the 18,000 m² of lawn, Amsted, Zeko and David Bruce paint large-scale frescoes live. Little by little, the meadow sees the blossoming of their worlds: organic for Amsted, urban for Zeko and sporty and fruity for David Bruce!
- 3pm to 8:30pm - Photo exhibition: Singeli 2 the world
Born in the blockparties of working-class neighborhoods on the outskirts of Dar Es Salaam, singeli became a fixture at kigodoro, the marathon parties nicknamed after the foam mattresses on which the dancers collapsed from exhaustion. Produced in February 2024 in the capital's seething underbelly, at the crossroads of Arab, Indian and African histories, the Singeli 2 the world exhibition is a plunge into the heart of dancefloors, studios and high points of Singeli culture.
- 4.30pm - CCN Ballet de Lorraine: Discofoot
The choreography of this match-performance is based on the rules and mechanics of soccer matches. The only way to play is to dance! But not just any kind of dancing... Each team is assessed by a panel of judges, who award points in the same way as judges in figure-skating competitions. The aim is not only to score goals, but also to show the greatest creativity in doing so!
DJ: Ben Unzip
- 5pm to 6pm - Trampoline initiation with Compagnie Kiaï
Trampoline discovery workshops will be led by Pulse artists. After a joint and muscle warm-up, participants will be guided step-by-step in a fun way to familiarize themselves with the different jumping techniques: sit-down fall, back fall, grouped jump, split jump, pirouette...
- 7pm - Compagnie Kiaï: Pulse
A bouncing space nine meters in diameter propels acrobats in an aerial ballet where the musical pulse sets the pace. Six heads, twelve arms and twelve legs synchronize in an acrobatic trance. Heat rises, heart rate accelerates and bodies push the limits of physics. There's no gravity, no up, no down, no right or wrong.
- 6:45pm - Amapiano show
- 7pm - Giant amapiano class with Andy Dlamini
- 8pm - DJ set by DJ Siba
Originally from the townships of South Africa, amapiano is now being danced all over the world.
