The exhibition is closed until further notice.

Cindy Sherman work fans are expected at the Fondation Louis Vuitton after its reopening. The famous building nestled in the Bois de Boulogne devoted a major retrospective to the contemporary American artist, she staged herself.

This exhibition gathers 170 works created between 1975 and 2020, which means 300 pictures revolving in a pattern of series including Untitled Film Stills, Rear Screen Projections, Fashion, Broken Dolls, History Portraits, Disasters, Headshots, Clowns, Society Portraits, Murals, Flappers, Men… One of Cinder Sherman’s characteristics was to stage herself in her works.

For the biggest fans, Cindy Sherman took part in the staging of this huge installation. Those fond of the American artist’s work will be delighted to find recent and some never-seen-before works.

In parallel with this retrospective, the Fondation Louis Vuitton came up with a new display of La Collection, Crossing Views, “a selection of works from the Collection the foundation chose in partnership with Cindy Sherman herself”.

Visitors can discover about twenty French and international artists coming from different generations and backgrounds, around sixty works highlighting different approaches: painting, photography, sculpture, video, installation.
