A tribute to nature and the people who cultivate it... This is what the Toit de la Grande Arche is offering with the Grandeur Nature exhibition, which reopens on July 1, 2021, at the same time as the Toit de la Grande Arche. The exhibition plunges you into the heart of the work of two photographers, Olivier Löser and Laurent Monlaü, who went on assignment in France and abroad with Clarins, the cosmetics group behind the project (and curator of the exhibition).
The idea? To show the power and beauty of nature, a vector for encounters between man and nature, and to raise awareness of biodiversity among visitors and photography enthusiasts. The exhibition highlights "the precious balance between nature and mankind [...] to be maintained and expanded for the future" . For Olivier Löser, the guiding principle is to go back to the origin of the plant to establish this special link between man and nature. A link that also outlines a social, cultural and economic pyramid.
Laurent Monlaü unveils his Les forêts Originelles series, a titanic work presenting "bubbles of intact primary forests around the world, vertiginous frescoes of nature, a plant panorama". The work isbased on very large prints, the largest being 4.50 m high, a kind of anamorphosis reworked by computer. The idea behind these shots? To get closer to the slowness of nature and its progression.
There's also a third photographer, Guido Mocafico, presenting his own work on nature, as well as several conferences, one Saturday a month, and workshops for children every Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm.
Shall we head for the Toit de la Grande Arche, folks?
