Industrial Evolutions : educational exhibition at the Cité des sciences

The Cité des sciences et de l'industrie takes us to discover the evolution of industry through a succession of sensitive and emotional, sound and visual experiences. Come and think about the new industrial world and its impact on the planet with the educational exhibition: "Industrial evolutions" proposed until March 25th 2023.

At the Cité des Sciences, a new exhibition shows landscapes in mutation, arms going wild, machines getting busy. No, this is not a retrospective of the Terminator saga, but rather the backdrop for the exhibition Industrial Evolutions until March 25, 2023. Around the artistic and educational installations, we wonder about an industry that is going ever further, ever faster.

Here, we are not talking about revolution, but aboutevolution. Take the time to wander through the seven "capsule" rooms. We find objects of our daily life from transformed materials: the can, the cotton T-shirt, the washing machine, the contraceptive pill, the drone, the smartphone and energy.

As you walk through theexhibition, you travel in sound and light from "Foug to Cloud". Then it's time for the "transformation" where we discover the gigantism of the production lines. Projections tell the story around the themes "transformed landscapes", "normalization", "worker figures", "networks".

Further on, Elon Musk, the boss of the car manufacturer Tesla, talks with the critic of the industrialist Ivan Ilitch, in a virtual debate, animated by René Descartes and Francis Bacon. Researchers from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and industrial metallurgists (UIMM) are partners in this event.

The exhibition Industrial Evolutions ends with a "curtain raiser" on this new hyper-industrial world that highlights the gigantic and invisible infrastructures of the digital world: satellites, submarine cables, data centers.

A fascinating exhibition that will leave no one unmoved. Thank you for the awareness, signed LA PLANÈTE!

As a reminder, the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie is one of the first scientific museums in Europe. It is the ideal place for a cultural outing with your family, take advantage of your visit to the Villette to visit the exhibitions: Fragile! Banquet, E-LAB, la Cité des enfants or Robots!
