A real universe where nature and history meet... Mathilde Rosier presents at the Pernod-Ricard Foundation her new monumental work in situ, Dans les champs d'intensive prospérité, from May 16 to July 15, 2023. Combining paintings, drawings and films, theexhibition addresses the notion of sensitive life and communication with nature. The artist invites us to meditate on the domestication of plants, agriculture and the intermediate states between nature and man through fields and plants representing limbo, a space located between natural logic and human beings.
The Neolithic period, marked by the appearance of the first farmers and the formation of sedentary villages, serves as a backdrop to this reflection on the evolution of human societies. Mathilde Rosier proposes a new symbolic language through her paintings and videos to identify with those who were involved in this monumental transition from nature to something else. The exhibition, a real chapel or cave, invites the visitor to reimagine coexistence and a new life together.
Born in 1973 in Paris, Mathilde Rosier lives and works in Burgundy. Her work is inspired by the physical and psychological experience of ancient rites and rituals. Combining painting, film, dance and theater, she constructs dreamlike situations that allow the viewer to lose all sense of time and space. Her works have been exhibited in prestigious institutions such as the Museo MADRE in Naples, the MASP in Sao Paulo and the Jeu de Paume in Paris. A new opportunity to discover his work at the Foundation!
