The Pavillon Carré de Baudouin, an emblematic cultural venue in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, has been completely renovated to offer the public new, refurbished premises free of charge. From March 25, 2023, visitors will be able to enjoy a two-storey exhibition area, a projection/conference room and an adjoining garden.
Between March 25 and May 6, 2023, a dynamic cultural program awaits you. Discover a new work by local artist Clément Laurentin, combining photos of the work and urban art. Admire the participatory fresco by Jean David Chétrite, paying tribute to the inhabitants and history of the 20th arrondissement. Don't miss the collaboration between Héloïse Guérin and Emma Seneze, who together create a fantasy landscape of suspended nature.
Upstairs, let French storyteller Abbi Patrix tell you all about the many rumors of the 20th arrondissement. Don't miss his show in the new auditorium on April 20. And don't miss photographer Vincent Desailly's 30-odd portraits of local residents.
From January 26 to May 20, an outdoor exhibition called"Paris s'éveille" by Aloïs Marignane highlights the 20th arrondissement's emblematic neighborhoods.
From June 1 to September 30, 2023, discover the solo exhibition by French-Palestinian artist Taysir Batniji, entitled "Quadrillages et bifurcations" (working title), created with the complicity of Sophie Jaulmes. This dreamlike stroll will take you on a journey between intimacy and urban trials, memory, boredom and repetition, time here and elsewhere.
The Pavillon Carré de Baudouin, located at 121, rue de Ménilmontant, takes its name from one of its first owners, Nicolas Carré de Baudouin. Since June 2007, it has been a cultural space dedicated to local, national and international contemporary art, managed administratively and artistically by the Mairie du 20e arrondissement.
To get to the Pavillon, take the metro (stations Gambetta, Ménilmontant, Jourdain, Pyrénées) or bus lines 26 and 96 (stop Pyrénées/Ménilmontant).
Opening hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday, with a nocturne until 8:30 p.m. every Thursday. Admission is free. Don't miss this unique opportunity to discover or rediscover this renovated and redesigned cultural venue.
