With his paintings of children from the four corners of the globe, evoking the transformations that are shaking our planet, globe-painter Seth has become a key figure on the French street art scene. Today, these children's often enigmatic faces can be seen not only in Paris, but also in Donbass, Shanghai and Haiti.
Proof of his renown, Seth has recently been the subject of several exhibitions in Paris, including at the Itinerrance gallery in 2020 and at Fluctuart in 2022. Right now, the Musée en Herbe is hosting " SETH se la JOUE " , a one-man show for young and old alike, on view until December 31, 2023.
This autumn, Seth takes to the streets. For a few weeks, the street artist will escape from the Paris museum to take over the Louvre district, with a not-to-be-missed installation on the Place du Louvre from October 24 to December 15, 2023. Entitled " Jusqu'au ciel" ("Up to Heaven "), this impressive sculpture plays with the environment of the Parisian square and its prestigious location. Both colorful and monumental - 4 meters high - the installation reveals a child sitting atop a pile of colored cubes, his head in the clouds.
And that's not all. In addition to Seth's colorful sculpture, which is sure to attract many curious onlookers, the street artist is presenting for the first time a selection of giant photographs of walls from all over the world. To be seen from October 24 to November 27, 2023 at the Carrousel du Louvre, this photographic retrospective, dubbed " Seth globe-painter ", invites visitors on a journey through a selection of giant snapshots; photographs taken over ten years of creations in the four corners of the globe (China, Tahiti, Ukraine, Senegal...).
For this series of photos, hung in the main aisle of the Carrousel du Louvre, Seth depicts the inhabitants of the places where he creates his murals, seeking to create a dialogue between reality and fiction. Through 18 photographs, we travel to Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City), Madagascar, Germany (Mannheim), the United States (Baton Rouge) and Haiti.
