Do you love fashion that shakes things up, that thrills, that reinvents? You're in for a treat! This year, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is celebrating the anniversary ofANDAM (Association nationale pour le développement des arts de la mode) in style, with an exhibition that's sure to get people talking: "Mode - Nouvelles Générations: 35 ans de l'ANDAM", from October 1, 2024 to March 30, 2025.
On the program? 30 iconic silhouettes and accessories, courtesy of the most visionary ANDAM prizewinners. From Martin Margiela, the master of deconstructivism, to the futuristic Marine Serre, to the eccentric Jeremy Scott, each piece in this retrospective highlights the eclecticism and avant-garde vision of contemporary fashion.
Themes? Unveiling and distorting the body, eco-responsibility, reinterpreting the history of fashion - in short, subjects that tickle the fancy and underline the boundless audacity of the designers supported by ANDAM since 1989. These designers have broken codes, reinvented standards and breathed fresh air into the French and international fashion landscape.
Carefully selected from the museum's reserves by exhibition curator Sophie Lemahieu, cult pieces by Maison Martin Margiela, Gareth Pugh 's experimental style and Y/Project's daring looks, not to mention the latest 2023 and 2024 winners - Louis-Gabriel Nouchi, Ester Manas and Christopher Esber - punctuate visitors' stroll around the museum's 3rd floor.
The inventiveness of accessory designers is also showcased, with bags by 31 février, shoes by Vincenrubin and bootmaker Vicente Rey, and poetic jewelry by Charlotte Chesnais and Stéphanie d'Heygere.
This autumn, head to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs for a total immersion in 35 years of avant-garde fashion, dictated by designers who don't shy away from a challenge!
