To celebrate this long-awaited reopening, a number of exhibitions and events are being organized in the capital over the coming weeks. The Musée de la Légion d'Honneur is also taking part in the festivities, with a free exhibition running from December 11, 2024 to March 2, 2025.
The Gardiens du geste exhibition pays tribute to the craftsmen who worked to rebuild the cathedral and its treasures. Artist Laurence Bost has created 40 paintings immortalizing these protectors of our heritage. The works show these craftsmen at work, carrying out precise gestures, using the age-old skills needed to preserve such a monument.
These post-impressionist-style portraits shine the spotlight on behind-the-scenes workers, the guardians of French memory and know-how, while capturing the precise gestures that restore the brilliance of a stained-glass window, a painting, a sculpture or an old frame...
Don't miss this free exhibition this winter, as part of the celebrations to mark the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris.
