If you didn't already know, the town of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine (93) has a museum dedicated to the fire department: open only a few times a year, it's a place of remembrance for the whole family to discover.

The little-known museum of the Paris Fire Brigade in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, in the Seine-Saint-Denis département, offers the general public the chance to discover over two hundred years of fire department history. Heroes of the shadows, acclaimed on the Champs-Elysées during the unmissable July 14th parade every year, the members of the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP ) also open the doors of their barracks, in Paris and the Île-de-France region, in spring and autumn.

In Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, the aim was to create a museum to enable the general public to discover two decades of BSPP history, traditions, activities and uniforms. Inaugurated in June 2022, the site contains a wealth of stored objects: vehicles, pumps, fire registers, rescue equipment, firefighting outfits... Dating from the early days of the Brigade des Sapeurs-pompiers (to the present day), and preserved in their original condition.

While the museum is only open to BSPP personnel for the vast majority of the year, it does open exceptionally during the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days), held every third weekend in September, or for other occasions, such as visits to schools or authorities.
