Musée de l'Orangerie closes for several months

The Musée de l'Orangerie, located in the Tuileries Gardens in Paris, will close its doors from January 28 to March 2, 2025. The closure will enable work to be carried out to improve visitor reception and optimize the building's climatic conditions.

A closure that art lovers will notice... The Musée de l'Orangerie, located in the heart of the Tuileries Gardens in Paris, is exceptionally closing its doors from Tuesday January 28 to Sunday March 2, 2025 inclusive. The closure is part of redevelopment work to improve the visitor experience and reception conditions. During this period, art lovers will have to wait patiently to return to this emblematic venue.

The work includes the creation of a separate exit from the main entrance on the north side of the building, designed to improve visitor flow. In addition, the organization of reception areas will be rethought to improve flow management. According to a press release from the museum, " this work will enable us to better control the building's climatic conditions and reduce the dust generated by its location in the Tuileries gardens ".

At the end of this closure, the museum will reopen, with work continuing on an open-museum basis until October 2025. Visitors are invited to consult the official website for regular updates on access conditions. These renovations are part of an overall program to improve and preserve this venue dedicated to Impressionist and modern art.
