Niki de Saint Phalle, Yves Klein, Raymond Hains, Keith Haring... They're all at the heart of the Tous Léger! exhibition, on view at the Musée du Luxembourg from March 19 to July 20, 2025. This cultural event explores the artistic exchanges between emblematic figures of European New Realism, such as Yves Klein, Niki de Saint Phalle and Martial Raysse, and American artists like Roy Lichtenstein and Keith Haring. An opportunity to observe how art has blended plastic innovation with representations of everyday life.
The fruit of an unprecedented partnership between two major collections on the Côte d'Azur, this exhibition brings together nearly 100 works. The exhibition is organized around a number of themes: the misappropriation of objects, the representation of the body and leisure activities, and the integration of art into public spaces. These themes provide a better understanding of the links between art and life, by highlighting everyday elements. As the Musée du Luxembourg points out, these artists aim to reveal " to the viewer the poetic beauty of our everyday lives ".
By highlighting figures such as avant-garde pioneer Fernand Léger, and including works by Keith Haring, theexhibition illustrates the evolution of artistic practices in the 20th century. It invites us to reflect on how ordinary objects and gestures can be transformed into genuine works of art.
