They're back for an 18th edition, organized from April 2 to 7, 2024: the Journées européennes des Métiers d'Art (or JEMA, for those in the know) await us in Paris and the Île-de-France region. This year, more than 500 venues are taking part in the JEMA, under the theme "Sur le bout des doigts" ("At your fingertips").
By the way, do you know what JEMA is? The aim of this annual cultural event is to showcase arts and crafts, a category that includes professions requiring exceptional traditional skills. Over 280 craft trades are grouped under this heading: roofer, carpenter, jeweller, heritage gardener, glassblower, tailor, bootmaker, taxidermist, printer, furniture or textile restorer...
JEMA not only provides an opportunity to honor these skills, it's also a chance to meet these talented craftsmen and women where they work. Head to workshops, museums, monuments, gardens, theaters and other national reserves to discover these treasures of our heritage.
The Musée Albert-Kahn is also taking part in this 2024 edition of the Journées européennes des Métiers d'Art. On April 4, 6 and 7, the Musée Albert-Kahn will be inviting visitors to meet the gardeners who look after the museum's historic garden, a bucolic space much appreciated by visitors.
What more could you ask for than a nature walk and fascinating encounters? Book your tickets in advance to make sure you don't miss out.
