With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games fast approaching, cultural and sporting activities around the event are multiplying in Ile-de-France. After the success of the Olympic Days this weekend, a great marathon, the Randopolitain, is offered free of charge to Parisians and tourists to discover the region in a different way, since Sunday, June 26, 2022 and until summer 2024.
100 hikes labeled "cultural Olympics" are now listed and accessible via public transportation thanks to this event. The online media Enlarge Your Paris, which initiated the project, says it wants to "draw the most important circuit in the world of accessible walks by train", in partnership with the SNCF. Sunday hikers will now be able to survey the region every other Sunday and one Wednesday per month, on 15 to 20km routes, walking from one station to another.
Most of the walks are reserved for the first 80 registrants, so you will have to register in advance to participate. New walks are proposed from March 5 to July 16, 2023, on the theme of the Green Belt of Ile-de-France, and invite you to discover the"most beautiful natural areas of Ile-de-France" alongside botanists, historians, forest rangers, artists, wildlife specialists, or cooks. The complete program is available on the project website.
