Do you know the Moulin Jaune? Slava's clown garden, awarded the "Jardin remarquable" label by the French Ministry of Culture in 2014 and the "Patrimoine régional d'Île-de-France" label in 2018. Situated along the Grand Morin river, this 4-hectare park is a veritable children's dream under the artistic direction of Slava Polunin, where creation and everyday life merge with nature.
Every year, in the summer months, the garden opens up for original and sometimes improbable events, adopting a specific theme each time. It's a chance for everyone to fit in with the theme, to adopt an original outfit and blend into the setting of a film in which you're also the hero. For the longest bridge in May, from May 8 to 12, 2024 (except Friday), the venue is transformed into a giant guinguette with a Thé dansant theme. Ever wanted to live in the time of the Impressionists? Relive the guinguettes of yesteryear, or plunge into a zany Alice-in-Wonderland world? Then this is the perfect weekend to immerse yourself in the crazy world of the Moulin Jaune.
Let yourself be transported to an idyllic setting where picturesque waterside scenes, tranquil strolls through lush gardens, relaxed lunches on the grass and typical guinguette dance parties come to life. It's the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the way people did 150 years ago, by enjoying a country picnic, admiring nature's subtle play of light and shade, and letting yourself be carried away by a tea dance.
The "Voyages impressionnistes, Instants de bonheur" event invites you to follow in the footsteps of the emblematic painters who made our region the famous "Valley of the Painters". If you play the accordion, don't hesitate to bring it along and share a tune at the reception desk: your musical talent can be used as an admission ticket.
To complete this escapade, the dress code is RED, evoking the bright colors of strawberries or cherries in a picnic basket. And to complete your outfit, don't forget to wear a canotier (straw hat), adding a touch of authenticity to your impressionist flâneur look.
Each Moulin Jaune garden offers a unique atmosphere, with scenic spaces for artistic interventions and a hut for working, escaping, sleeping or playing. The park is in perpetual transformation, evolving with the artists in residence, the participants in its workshops and master classes, and the vagaries of nature.
The Moulin Jaune garden is only open to visitors a few days a year, most of the time in an immersive, participatory way. Don't miss this unique opportunity to discover this enchanting place and celebrate the fine weather during the Thé dansant weekend in Crécy-la-Chapelle.
Admission is €20 for adults and €15 for children aged 3 to 12. Admission is free for children up to their third birthday. Please note that the prices shown are for pre-sale until the day before the event. On the day before and on site, you'll need to add €5 per person.
The Moulin Jaune is easily accessible by public transport. It's just a few hundred meters from the Villiers-Montbarbin train station, on line P. It's also accessible via the Marne la Vallée RER A, with an additional bus (59 or 17).
