Every year, millions of visitors flock to Disneyland Paris, the famous theme park in Marne-la-Vallée. Whether as a family, a romantic get-together or a get-together with friends, young and old alike are transported by the world beyond reality that awaits us. And with good reason: the magic of Disneyland takes us back to the heart of our childhood memories, through the cult films that have lulled us to sleep since we were very young.
In its more than 30 years of existence, Disneyland Paris has evolved and expanded, now offering two parks, Disneyland on one side and the Walt Disney Studio on the other. From one land to the next, you'll experience different atmospheres in immersive settings brimming with nods to the world of Disney films.
It's no surprise, then, that many fans are on the lookout for the latest developments, and keep their eyes peeled for the slightest announcement from Disneyland Paris. And on Friday, April 12, 2024, the 32nd anniversary of the famous theme park, we're being told more about what's in store for us at a press conference. We take a look at what's been announced live!
LIVE ANNOUNCEMENTS :
- The park's great classics are gradually being renovated, as Star Tours recently welcomed new journeys, and Fairytale Land will soon be home to new scenes (The Snow Queen and Winnie the Pooh).
- On the hotel front, after the Marvel Hotel and Disneyland Hotel, we can expect renovation work to continue, with Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch soon to be completed. The existing bungalows will be replaced with additional equipment and a revised layout. There will be junior beaver-inspired elements featuring Riri, Fifi and Loulou. The renovation is scheduled for completion in 2024.
- The transformation of Disney Village continues after the opening of brasserie Rosalie. We're promised a "totally reinvented shopping experience" with a new look for the boutiques. Expect brand-new facades built with sustainable materials and "warm" colors. A triptych in homage to the Disney universe will be on display.
- Over the coming months, Disney Village will be gradually transformed. For those of you who love home decor, we're planning a dedicated boutique with a special collection of collector's items. The merger of Disney Gallery and Disney Fashion is set to unveil a sleeker, more timeless setting, while retaining a touch of whimsy. Fashion items, jewelry and other surprises will be on display. As for the Lego store, we can also expect some improvements. The new stores are expected to open by the end of 2024, and will feature product ranges exclusive to Disney Village. The Disney Store will open later than the rest of the new stores, and will feature products inspired by all the Disney franchises, with an evolving section based on the latest news.
- On the restaurant front, Annette's Diner will remain, MacDonald's will be revamped by 2026, and Sport's Bar will be refurbished. New concepts are also planned, but remain secret for the time being.
- As far as the shows are concerned, after the development of the drone show (which has been extended to January 2025), Dr Strange takes center stage on the Avengers campus.
- Alice in Wonderland is about to launch with a show inspired by musicals. We're promised a quirky, super-colorful atmosphere. It will be a theatrical reinterpretation of the famous cartoon, with elements drawn from the spirit of Broadway and West End music hall. A stage has been specially designed for this show, allowing the audience to discover from their seats the winks and easters eggs scattered throughout the scenography. The stage also includes a 14m-long trampoline, and you can expect to see trampo-walls and BMX during the show. Various artistic disciplines take to the stage with 46 performers, including trampoline and BMX acrobats, singers and musicians. The audience plays a vital role in the show, as they are considered guests of the Mad Hatter, adding an immersive theatrical dimension to the show featuring a rock-spirited Queen of Hearts. Spectators are invited to participate in the show. The opening date is scheduled for May 25, 2024.
- The Walt Disney Studio Park is being transformed and expanded to double its current size. We're promised a more contemporary image, swapping the film studio for an entrance that gives us the impression of being invited to a grand preview. We can expect shinier graphics and a greener setting, with 112,000 trees and bushes to be planted, Toy's Story Garden offering new access to the Playground, a Rapunzel garden hosting a new attraction, Tangled Spin, before we head off to Adventure Bay, the much-anticipated lake area. Here, a new premium restaurant, The Regal View, offers gourmet dining and opportunities to meet princes and princesses.
- On the other side of Adventure Bay, we find ourselves in the heart of Arendelle, in the Snow Queen universe, with a new restaurant, the Tavern of the Two Crowns and the 400-tonne steel North Mountain.
- The Walt Disney Studio park changes its name to Disney Adventure World.
