On September 25, 2024, the annual Tous en forêt event returns for a 4th edition in the Île-de-France region. The event gives the public the chance to meet ONF foresters and find out more about the challenges of forest management. With over 40 forests in the region taking part, it's an opportunity to immerse yourself in nature through guided walks. These meetings are free and accessible without registration.

Let' s all head for the forest on September 25, 2024! Climate change, forest management, biodiversity protection, timber harvesting... There are many questions about the future of forests and their preservation. To answer them, foresters are mobilizing! They invite you to join them in a unique initiative in the state, communal and regional forests of Ile-de-France, Normandy, Hauts-de-France, Western France, Central France, Aquitaine and Savoie. Join them in the forest on Wednesday September 25 from 2pm to find out more.

What does the "Tous en forêt" event involve?

Every year, the Office National des Forêts organizes "Tous en Forêt" to give the general public privileged access to forestry professionals. You can join guided walks, where foresters explain the challenges they face on a daily basis: climate change, protecting biodiversity, or managing tree felling. It's a unique opportunity to ask questions directly to those who work to preserve our natural spaces.

Why take part in this event?

The event is ideal for those who want to understand how our forests are managed. Through educational walks, we learn how foresters are adapting to global warming and protecting biodiversity. Foresters answer questions such as:

  • Why do we cut down certain trees?
Tree-cutting is often viewed negatively, but it is necessary to regenerate forests and promote biodiversity. Foresters explain how these practices help maintain healthy ecosystems.

  • How are forests adapting to climate change?
Climate change is affecting tree growth and the survival of certain species. Foresters share the strategies they have put in place to anticipate these effects, such as planting more resistant species or creating spaces for wildlife.

  • What role does biodiversity play in forests?
Protecting biodiversity is one of the key roles of forest managers. Find out how certain plant and animal species are preserved, and why certain areas are left uncultivated to encourage wildlife.

How does the day unfold?

Tours start at 2pm and do not require a reservation. Each meeting point offers a guided tour with explanations suitable for all ages. You can ask questions, observe nature and better understand the daily work of foresters.

This event is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature while asking essential questions about the future of our forests. Join us on September 25 at 2pm at one of the many sites in the Paris region!
