Mado in Paris is a new tea shop to try in Paris! Opening in November 2019 on the rue de Rivoli, facing the Tuileries garden, this madeleine store intends to delight young and old with gourmet and regressive recipes to be consumed with a tea or a hot chocolate!

Located just across from the Jardin des Tuileries, Mado à Paris is the new winter 2019 tea salon that's sure to get people talking: pretty decor, gourmet madeleines and a great range of products to take away for gifts.

It has to be said that Mado's madeleines had made a name for themselves at the Salon du Chocolat 2018, except that at the time they were only sold to restaurateurs. That wrong has been righted with the opening of the Mado tea room in Paris, located rue de Rivoli, on the Concorde side. Inside, you can take your time over madeleines (or a slice of cake), tea or hot chocolate !

Manager Catherine recounts how, after years working in the luxury goods sector, she embarked on the adventure of making madeleines, a product she has loved since childhood. She confides that she often made madeleines with her aunt, Madeleine, when they saw each other. The walls feature photos taken in the 30s and 40s celebrating women, including Madeleine!

Its specialty is filled madeleines, such as the all-chocolate madeleine with a fondant chocolate heart, the lemon madeleine and the pistachio raspberry madeleine. Visually, they look big, and the flavors on offer appeal to young and old alike. In fact, the chocolate-covered versions are already best sellers!

Let yourself be tempted by an all-chocolate madeleine at 3.20€ on the premises (2.90€ takeaway) and a hot chocolate at 7.20€. In a boudoir atmosphere (reminiscent of the Brasserie du Brach), you forget you're on Rue de Rivoli. The walls are full of books that can be browsed at will, and we needed nothing less to make our nest. The madeleine has a heart that melts in your mouth.

Soft and melt-in-the-mouth, this is the traditional madeleine par excellence. Even if it's not very original, it has a taste of home that can lead us to raid the store. As for the hot chocolate served, it's a real winter comfort that stays in the mouth for a few minutes.

Before leaving, it's hard to resist the call of takeaway madeleines, tea and jams, ideal for breakfast. A whole range of sweet treats awaits us, and we're already feeling tempted!

Here's an address to take note of, both for its menu and for the soothing setting just a stone's throw from the Tuileries!

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
